The Lti Giessen 46ers Bring In Wayne Bernard
At the begining of the career of Wayne Bernard he was known as a basketball world traveler, but in the last 3 years, the American seems to have settled down in Germany and will remain here as he will play a 4th consecutive season in Deutschland for the LTi Giessen 46ers.
Bernard is a 29 year old 190cm guard that was born in San Diego, California. Having displayed a knack for knocking down clutch baskets in key situations, Bernard is a player that performs at his best in pressure situations. He has superb range on his jumper, and can also drive to the hoop with slashing moves. He is also a capable ball handler. He played for the Mitteldeutscher BC the last three years and last season played 34 games: 11.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.8apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 46.9%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 85.7%. Its not surprising that his ex coach at MBC Bjoern Harmsen would bring him to Hessen. 'I have been working 2.5 years with Wayne and he shines with the small things that you dont see in the stats. He is one of the best defenders in the league and he always wants to find his teammates on the floor. Our game will be very inside orientated so it will be important to have good shooters. He will give the Giessen fans a lot of fun, because the team is always most important for him', stressed LTi Giessen 46er coach Bjoern Harmsen.
