Trail Blazers Sign Fabricio Oberto
The Portland Trail Blazers signed the 6'10 Center Fabricio Oberto who successfully passed the usual medical tests. Last season Fabricio, who is native of Argentina, played for the Washington Wizards after having spent four years with the San Antonio Spurs, winning the NBA championship in 2007, as Spurs starting center.
In his NBA career Oberto has averaged 3.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 14.6 minutes in 331games. He also played on the Argentine National Team, winning the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics
The Blazers will open the season tonight against the Phoenix Suns at the Rose Garden.
