There was a minor upset in Klosterneuburg where Xion Dukes were defeated by ninth ranked Arkadia Lions 96-90 on Thursday.
Xion Dukes were trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 30-23 charge of Arkadia Lions, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Arkadia Lions outrebounded Xion Dukes 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass.
It was a great evening for Italian-Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Arkadia Lions will meet at home higher ranked Gussing Knights in the next round, while Xion Dukes will play against Raiffeisen Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
