Virtus Bologna agreed terms with Willie Warren, who will replace Casper Ware.
25 years old, born in Dallas, Texas, Warren is a point guard with great offensive skills. He can create shots for himself and for teammates and he can be the right player to lift Virtus, that has lost six of last seven games. Warren spent his college careen at Oklahoma, ending his senior year with 16.3 ppg and 4.1 apg. Drafted by Clippers at the end of 2010 draft (2nd roundd, 24th pick, 54thoverall), he played 19 NBA games with 1.9 ppg. He made some appearances in D-League, with Bakersfield Jam and Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and in 2012 he moved to Europe. He played during 2012-2013 with Maccabi Rishon (Israel - Premier League), averaging 16.1 ppg and 4.2 apg in 23 games with a season high of 28 points scored against Hapoel Holon. He began this season with Szolnoki Olajbanyasz (Hungary-A Division), playing 17 games in Adriatic League with 15.5 ppg and 5.3 apg, with 50.0% from 2, 45.5% from 3 and a season high of 30 points, and 11 games (11.4 ppg, 3.4 apg, 49.3% from 2 and 34.5% from 3) in Eurochallenge, with a season high of 23 points scored against Reggio Emilia.
