Vladimir Stimac agreed terms with Estudiantes


Tuenti Movil Estudiantes Madrid (Spanish Liga Endesa) inked 28-year old Serbian international center Vladimir Stimac. Stimac managed to play in three leagues last year. He played most recently at B.Muenchen in German BBL league. In 46 games he recorded 8.7ppg and 5.3rpg. He helped them to make it to both league and supercup final. Stimac also played 10 games in Euroleague where he averaged 6.9ppg and 4.1rpg. He also played 8 games in Eurocup where he averaged 11.1ppg and 5.4rpg.
The previous (13-14) season Stimac played at Unicaja Malaga. In 41 Liga Endesa games he averaged 7.1ppg and 5.6rpg. He also played 23 games in Euroleague where he averaged 7.6ppg and 5.1rpg.
In 12-13 season Stimac played at Banvit (BSL) in Turkish league. In 42 games he averaged 8.5ppg and 7.4rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the final and cup semifinals. Stimac also played 12 games in Eurocup where he averaged 12.8ppg, 6.8rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.3apg in 2012-13 season.
In 11-12 season he played at Eskisehir Basket (BSL) in Turkish league. In 30 games he averaged 14.8ppg, 9.9rpg and 1.3apg. A very good year in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League 2nd Team, All-Bosmans Team and to the All-Star Game. Stimac also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0bpg in 2011-12 season.
In 10-11 season he played at CEZ Nymburk (NBL) in Czech Republic league. Similarly like in the last season, the team also played in three different competitions that year, and Stimac had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 19 NBL games he averaged 6.2ppg and 3.7rpg in 2010-11 season. He contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup. Stimac also played 10 games in Eurocup where he averaged 7.0ppg and 5.1rpg in 2010-11 season. He also played 17 games in Adriatic League where he averaged 6.1ppg and 3.5rpg in 2010-11 season. Stimac also played at BK Ventspils(LBL) in Latvian league that season. In 7 games he averaged 15.0ppg and 7.7rpg in 2010-11 season. He also played 8 games in Baltic League where he averaged 7.9ppg and 7.6rpg.
Among other achievements Stimac received Eurobasket.com All-Latvian League Bosman Player of the Year award back in 2007 and 2008.
He has been also a member of Serbian international program for some years. Stimac has regularly played for Serbian senior team since 2012 and previously for U20 National Team in 2007. He represented Serbia at the European Championships in Slovenia two years ago.
Stimac has played also professionally in Lithuania (Zalgiris and Zalgiris II Kaunas), Latvia (Valmiera) and Serbia (KK Beovuk 72 Beograd and Crvena Zvezda).
