Xavier Cannefax Joins CIBACOPA's Ostioneros de Guaymas
Interperformances has just announced the signing of 6'2" American point guard Xavier Cannefax with the Mexican CIBACOPA team, Ostioneros de Guaymas, bringing a wealth of experience.
Cannefax started his basketball journey in Salem, OR, playing for South Salem High School before moving on to Santa Rosa Junior College in NJCAA. He then transferred to Warner Pacific College where he played for two seasons, posting impressive numbers of 11.0 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game during his first season, and improving to 18.6 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game during his second season.
After college, Cannefax played for various teams in Europe and Asia, including Uppsala Basket in Sweden, Al Rayyan Doha in Qatar, BC Apollo Amsterdam in Holland, KB Ponte Prizren in Kosovo, and CSM Targu Jiu in Romania. In his most recent stint with CSM Targu Jiu, Cannefax averaged 11.8 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 55.4% from 2-point range, 25.9% from 3-point range, and 86.0% from the free-throw line, before signign with Al Ahly Tripoli in Libya.
