Gabriel Capicchioni started for FIU in their 2-1 victory over NC State, the preseason No. 2 team in the country and the 2025 NCAA College Cup runner-up. The San Marino international was named in the starting lineup for FIU in a match against one of the leading programs in NCAA men’s soccer. Capicchioni played 18 minutes before being substituted as FIU secured its first win of the 2026 season.
