John B. Kern is an American attorney practicing in Charleston, South Carolina and Gualdicciolo, Rep. of San Marino. He has worked with Interperformances and its clients since 2005, focusing particular attention to the resolution of disputes through arbitration in Switzerland. is licensed in South Carolina, the US Court of International Trade and the US Tax Court. He holds Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Management degrees from Willamette University in Oregon. He earned a bachelor degree at Seattle Pacific University in Washington state. He worked for four years in the United States Senate as an advisor to Mark O. Hatfield and other Senators. He is recognized by the Swiss Ministry of Economy as a qualified advisor to Swiss businesses and individuals in the USA. He is a member of the College of Fellows of the Austrian Center for International Legal Studies for his contributions to the transnational practice of law. He has lectured and written for the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. He was chairman of the SC Bar International Law Committee for three years. Previously, he was senior litigation partner in a boutique international law firm with offices in London and Charleston.
