Important Euroleague game to mention about took place in Belgrade. Seventeenth ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (6-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 16th ranked Greek Panathinaikos (5-11) 74-71 in the game for the fifteenth place. Panathinaikos trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-74 at the end of the game. Crvena Zvezda made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game.
In the game the international point guard Joaquin Colom, who recently joined Red Star, contribueted to victory by scoring 13 points.
Crvena Zvezda moved-up to fifteenth place. Defending Greek champion Panathinaikos keep the sixteenth position with 11 games lost. Crvena Zvezda will face higher ranked Fenerbahce (#12) in Istanbul in the next round. Panathinaikos will play at home against Zenit (#5) and hope to win that game.
